David Bowie

David Bowie turned heads in the 1970s with his androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, a persona conceived for the 1972 concept album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The short-lived character was the mainstay of the Ziggy Stardust Tour but vanished in subsequent performances such as the Diamond Dogs Tour, Isolar, Serious Moonlight Tour, and the Glass Spider Tour (seen by as many as 3 million people). David Bowie’s glam-rock performances are well documented in this collection of 1,227 images from such tours as Let’s DanceTonight and Never Let Me Down.
