Since stunning fans with his departure from Genesis in 1975, Peter Gabriel has
led one of the most respected solo careers in pop music. Progressive, experimental,
evolutionary, he pioneered the use of synths and computer technology with his first
three solo albums, notoriously released without titles. A champion of world music,
especially African sounds, he topped the charts with Sledgehammer in 1986 and
has remained one of pop music’s reigning statesmen ever since.
